National Trust for Historical Preservation Declares Area "11 Most Endangered"

Today by the North Bridge where the "shot heard round the world" was fired, the National Trust for Historic Preservation declared Minute Man National Historical Park, Walden Woods, and other surrounding national landmarks as among the "11 Most Endangered Places in America."

These sites were identified as endangered due to the proposed expansion of private luxury jet operations as the adjacent Hanscom Field. The announcement included remarks by Betsy Merritt of the National Trust, Ashley Judd, Historian Douglas Brinkley, Congressional Rep Lori Trahan, State Rep Simon Cataldo, and many others.

To provide specific feedback on the project to the Massachusetts Government, there is a public comment period open until June 14, with guidance provided here.

The National Trust joins over 80 organizations and 14,000 citizens in demanding the governor stop this project, which has no legitimate public purpose. The designation has been reported in various news outlets:
