Congressional Delegation petitions Department of Transportation and FAA to reconsider approvals of Hanscom Field expansion plans.

In response to community concerns regarding Massport plans to demolish a historic hangar and double total hangar space at Hanscom Field, the local Congressional Delegation of Reps Tsongas, Markey, and Tierney have asked the FAA to review their process and reconsider FAA approval of the plans.

The local communities do not believe the impacts on the significant historic and natural sites in the area have been properly considered in the approvals.

The Representatives request that the FAA take actions including re-convening the Federal Inter-Agency Working Group responsible for assuring protections of the area, which has not met for 9 years.
